It's 9 from a possible 10 points so far! What a great start it has been! The only blemish on the card is the loss on penalty shots to the Belfast Giants.

As Spen say's "CLARKEY IS OUR LEADER" The man has begun the season like a man possessed!! It's so nice the see a British player top of the scoring charts!

"Evan Lindsey makes a save!" Surprising I know! Not had the greatest start as a panthers goalie but the man is getting better and has made some very very important saves!

Defence looks great, Corey Neilson is going to be a Legend in the Black and Gold!

Also got to say I'm loving the Sean McAslan & Steve Simoes show!

Our leader Warren!! CRAP AT SHOOTING THE PUCK!!! Yep he gets on the Ice for the shootout competition and doesn't score a single goal! SHOCKING! Then tries to blame it on the amount of beer he's drunk, just because it's his birthday, AS IF MATE!

But to top it all off!! Picture this..... The usual crew sat in block 11! Singing our head's off! (Nothing strange there!) Then all of a sudden one of the stewards comes over and asks us the try and keep the noise down! KEEP THE NOISE DOWN! YOUR HAVING A LAUGH AINT YA! So that's it folks the panda's have had they're first arena warning to keep the noise down at the hockey, didn't realise we were in the Library! Still as churchill said! We will fight them on the beaches!

Anyway hopefully Warren, Keefe and co will let know about the Edinburgh double header weekend!! See you all at the Cardiff game on sat, make sure you have your drinking heads on as it's my birthday on Friday so it's party time!!

So as life goes on, so does Hockey. Except it kinda doesn't. Last night saw the mighty Panthers take on Danny Scott. He had found some freinds to play with and so it wasn't just Danny Vs the World but as regular readers will know I don't let the truth get in the way of a good sentance. So what happened, Well on the way down there I got Keefe and Ted to go against Tomtom and make a rational choice in how to get there. Skipping being stuck in road works is always worth the extra effort. as for the game. we won, Danny is now £15 worse off. We had whip round and offered the collection in return for him starting a fight with Smhyr. Perhaps if we would of wandered over to him with the cash perhaps we would of got it sorted. As for the Rink, I think if I had of bought my Skates I could of got onto the ice done a shift or 2 before anyone had noticed.

Well Hello blog fans....

Oh i feel like chris moyles. As you can no doubt see, this is my first blog (just fortunate that it is while im sober, although im sure throughout the season there will be many alcohol fuelled blogging incidents!). So welcome to my little world, in my little corner of panda land.... its not that little a corner obviously, as i have to fit in it!

Right, so far panthers have played twice, and lost twice... so 100% record so far. First game, well, i know i shouldnt as its the first game, but Evan Lyndsay doesnt fill me with the greatest of confidance, not with that glove anyway. The second game against Chris McSoreLosers team... well that went better, aside from the fact the match was called off due to soft ice!?!?!? they are going to have an entertaining season then. McSorely said we are a good team and the fans are going to enjoy watching them, this coming from CM is a massive boost! Without a doubt i still concider him as the best coach to have worked in this country.. you only have to look what hes done with Geniva to see how good he is!

Anyway... only 2 days to go before we can all make the trip to Bracknell to see our first glimpse of nottingham panthers 2006-2007 the 60/40th anniversary team.

In the land of the blind, The One eyed man is King

well that's the old saying. How this makes sense, surely if everyone is blind, they are more than likely to still have eyes. So If 1 person has 1 eye, then he still will be blind....

Anyway, moving off philosophy, and onto other matters.... Things are a changing in the World of Panthers and Pandas. Sammo has touched on the Panthers news and I'll let him work his magic regards those boys. Now for Panda's. Now there was some unrest in the Panda Camp. Mainly due to drunken squabbling and such like but that is nothing new. We are all young adults (some younger than others, and some hitting 30 and beyond) and differences have and are being settled.

So whats new with your illustrious Captain I hear you scream? (I say scream I mean have a vague interest in) Well Nothing really. I am now part of the Capital One Monster, so being big and corporate is my new motto. Gone are the days of drunken foolishness (Or not so drunken as more than often I was driving) Now i have become older, wiser, slightly slower and strangely slimmer. I Will still be the biggest fool around and leading a rag-tag bunch of clowns in numerous drink fuelled bizarre antics but now I shall be working to a new purpose. A new goal if you will.

So What is it?

Well towards the back end of lastly season there was some animosity between fans. Now not just the usual rival fans from rival team kind of stuff, but fighting amongst the Panthers fans themselves. Now I am not claiming to be the saviour of Panthers fans. (If people wish to see me in this light, then I ain't gonna stop them) I see myself as more on a mission (not from God like Jake and Elwood but just a regular mission, kinda like the SAS) So how will I complete this mission? well When It comes down to it, there is only 1 answer. All the Panthers Fans act as one now I am not saying that we need to become like the Borg, and loose free will and work as a collective. I am thinking more along the lines of, we stop this inner fighting, and become more harmonious.

How Will we do it?

Well this part is the difficult part. In all my time away I have been thinking (yes it did hurt) And I have come to some main points...

1 - Accept that different people will like different players,
2 - Accept that different People will have differing opinion's.
3 - Accept that unless we work Together, Things are not going to change.

So what will this achieve? If we all work together, we can create a 7th Man on the ice. From conversations with the Players last season, The Coventry game at home which we won 4-2 and the vast majority of the crowd were chanting, singing (doing stupid actions) then we created that extra player. For opposing Players its intimidating, for our players its uplifting. If we can work together then we can win those games were not supposed to and not loose the games we should of won. I'm not talking of arrogance, I'm talking of self belief. If our heads don't drop when we go 1 goal down, then we can raise the players heads.

Now I for will be Loud and proud. Now for the big question... will you?

Geoff is our young British back up for what is now his 4th season in the Black and Gold.

I'm personally pleased to see him back, still young lad I'm sure he can keep on developing and hopefully will become a great asset to the club. All in all a solid back up netminder and hopefully the best of him is yet to come. Keep up the good work Geoff!!

#31 Evan Lindsey

Evan will be our #1 Goalie this season having spent last season playing in the CHL for Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (What a mouthful!) He also got picked for the CHL All star team last season.

I think he'll be a very good signing for us although I will miss Curtis! Good luck in Newcastle!! But not too much good luck ;-)

I remember when he was over here playing for the London Racers and he seemed like a good solid goalie but not a superstar! Although he did have a very poor defense in front of him that season!

One of the strangest things about Evan is that he is a goalie who has been drafted twice, first by Calgary in 1997 when he was a second round draft pick (32nd overall) and then again in 1999 he was drafted by Montreal in the 4th round (107th overall)

All I have to say is welcome Evan and I hope you have a great season between the pipes! The only thing is it might take some time to come up with a song/chant for you!!

So Then Panthers Fan's the New Season is Fast Approaching!!

So what has been going on in the world of the Panda's and the Panthers, well to be honest I'm not sure what the other Panda's have been up to!! I'll let them fill you in on what they've been doing but I've been away playing lots and lots of cricket and drinking stupid amounts of beer!!
(Now there's a surprise!!)

So What's been happening in the Panther world. Well it's been all change on the coaching front with Mr Blaisdail's contract not being renewed as it was felt a fresh approach was needed so up steps retiring GB international Mike Ellis. Hopefully he will give us the fresh ideas we need to bring home some silverware this year!!

Also last years captain Calle "The Moose" Carlsson is returning but as assistant coach to Mr Ellis as I will call him for now!! Both Mr Ellis and Calle are registered as played so if we have a short bench they will play!!

Over the next few weeks I will go through who we've signed for this coming season, starting with the goalies, followed by the defencemen and finally the forwards!! I'll not tell you who other teams have signed as let's be honest:
1) We don't really care!!!
and
2) I can't be bothered!!!

So there we are the build up has begun and I look forward to the new season!! One thing I did forget to tell you though is that Panthers will once again be representing GB in the
Continental Cup (Hockey's Equivalent to the European Cup!!)
So the Panda's will be off to France following the teams up's and downs!! Hopefully we should be able to keep you pretty up to date on things over there!!

Yet Another Trophyless Season for the Panthers.......

....Still theres always next year!!!

Well that's it folks the end of yet another season for the panthers and despite the return of Mike Blaisdell we failed to win a trophy, but even though we didn't win to be honest we didn't have that bad a season, finishing 3rd in the league, but then again I know a lot of people were expecting more but I have to say I'm not too disapointed. So here is the roll of honour for the 2005/06 season:

Play-Off Weekend 08.04.06/09.04.06

No mass of words from yours truly, I'll leave that to the other Pandas - they are the ones who need to comment on 10-0 thrashings, car eating, organised dance routines & more leading upto the weekend. It was weird Panthers not being there, & then in the semi finals seeing both teams we wanted to make the final getting knocked out (the Panthers curse).

Thankfully the curse failed to show up on Sunday & the final went in our favour, the Vipers beat the Squealers 2-1, & sent the mardy "Hordes of Mordor" back up the M1 pronto.

ALLWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE!!!! D-DU D-DU-D-DU-D-DU!!!!!!!

Monty Python couldn't have put it any better. That just about sum's up last weekend. What Can I say about saturday.... We'll to lose 7-0 against the arch enemy the Steelers. Yup 7-0!! Despite the scoreline and watching Panthers playing so so poorly I actually had a really good night!! After coaching the Thrumpton Kwik Cricket kids in the morning I had a nice relaxing afternoon playing on the new Godfather game for the PS2. Then we set off to the Arena, Wykesie, Sammo Mum and Myself (Sammo) as we were parking Wykesie informed me that he'd got a ticket for playoff game 3 and not the ticket for playoff game 2!! So I had to go all the way home and pick up his ticket!!

So we arrive back at the Arena andnow it's started to pour it down with rain, great just what we need!! Anyway Mum gets into the arena and her hair is wet through!! She looked like a drowned rat!! Aaaaah!! I hear you say!! So inside we went to watch, what we hoped, a really great performance by the Panthers. Unfortunatly we were all very disapointed Steelers played well and we were poor so in all fairness we just ended up laughing rather that crying at the 7-0 scoreline. (one goal!! we only wanted one goal!!) Comedy moment goes to the horseman (truely a legend!!) stripping off in the middle of the second period during a break in play! It had the crowd in complete laughter!!

The other great moment was during the game. Panthers pull Curtis "What amI doing" Cruickshank and bring on Geoff "Our House" Woolhouse. Wooly face 1 shot saves it and then a fight breaks out downthe other end of the ice near the Steelers net. Steelers netminder looks like he's getting involved so wooly skates down the full length of the ice and by the time he gets there the fights finish and wooly then gets kicked out the game for crossing the halfway line!! Class!! ONE SAVE ONE FIGHT!! ONE SAVE ONE FIGHT!!

Still afer all the madness of the hockey was over we retired to T&D where on birthday boy Andy's arrival we got the entire bar singing Happy Birthday to him before Warren, Ted, Keefe and myself proceded to give him the Bumps!! Then Andy's mum cut up the Panda birthday cake and made sure everyone got a piece.

Then after a goods night sleep it was on to the madness in Sheffield in our return trip against the Steelers, just hoping for an improved performance. Well in all fairness we got it!! Much improved and came away with a respectable 1-1 result. Thanks to a blunder from Jody "Tango Man" Lehman and a determind finish from Super!! Super Matt!! Super!! Super Matt!! Super!! Super Matt!! Super Matty Myers!! (That's a song just for you Cat!!) Now we just have to hope and pray that Newcastle can beat the Steelers and that we can pick up two wins against the Bison.

On the way to the game Spen and myself were teasing Rhindsie with the thought of the Baywatch theme tune from the latest CD that spen created for me!! For some reason this is now craigs favourite song and can be seen doing an impression of the opening title accross a hockey rink car park near you soon!!

Another great comedy moment was during the 1st period break when Duffy appeared and said the game was pants!! Had he just watch the same period as us!! I DON'T THINK SO!! We played very well in the 1st!! Our powerplay actually played with POWER!! (Sorry for steeling your phrase Shaggy!!) and our penalty kill was working well (Killing like a sniper) So we just couldn't believe the words that had just come out of his mouth!! Although he does seem to have found himself some followers of the DUFFY CLAN although there is another name we game them but if you want to know that you'll have to ask either Cat or myself!!

Anyway I guess I've rambled on enough so see you all soon folks!! Most of you in Basingstoke I suspect!!

We All Live In A Tub Of Margarine

I was once was told that these were in fact the real lyrics to Yellow submarine but Ringo Star thought they sounded to stupid even for drug induced trance Beatles.

It has now been brought to my attention that I shouldn’t believe the drunken ramblings of a “not quite with it would be an understatement” scouser. Hey it does sound better though… So I have been away. Well not away in the literal sense but away from the blog. There is a reason. Not a god one I will say but there is one. I was sacked from my old job (Queue big arrh from the crowd) Not to hold a grudge but if I pass that place when it was burning I would only go there to see who died and if I could get away with killing a few survivors.

So onto the Hockey… Well I have only missed 4 league games this season. (2 versus Caps and 2 versus Giants) So I feel that I am in a position to comment on how they have performed. At this point I plead the 5th Amendment (Technically I can’t as a. I’m not American and b. I’m not in America) But anyway.

Comedy stuff happening around the Hockey…. Well this season we have made fun of Nigel “I swear I am Impartial, but I can’t help doing the Moose to the Panthers fans” Boniface and his bit of stuff. Or as she might be known in “some” circles, Zoë “you know you’ve got a” Chance. Cat has made 2/3 banners for games in Cardiff, which we all signed. We have had many an argument with fellow fans about the origins of songs (I will explain later). I have been involved in encouraging Players to Moose at us (we’re so cheap its unbelievable) Ha the fun.

So arguments about songs. Well my first instance of this was up in Toon land. It started when we sang the Clap moose Tree song. Then the “barmy army” Toon fans (or Class 2B as they should be known) started to use our chants. (Mainly the ooooohhhh Sit down) so we replied “get your own chants” to which, for legal reasons I won’t use her name but a made up nickname, “Mars” came up and said that we couldn’t say that as the “moose” thing was stolen from Newcastle. At this point “mars” was giving little Andy a nice shower. So the new stand is that we can only use chants that a. do not use any lyrics to songs which already exist or b. use the tune to any song which already sings. This leaves us with 1 one song which I made up. It is poor. Evan Rick Waller wouldn’t sing it. (To be honest the Cheeky Girls have called and asked if they can release it)

The next installment about singing and arguments (or as some would say Handbags and glad-rags) goes like this… It was the Final game Vs Steelers. It was a close match. I had a banging headache. Add to this all the fun and games of loosing my job in the week. SO… In Overtime, a person who again for legal reasons I shall not use there real name… “Gopher” starts an argument with me. I say start an argument, the correct term I think is herald abuse at me. He claimed that “as a Panda, who are the ‘real fans’ and as ‘leader’ of the Pandas, I should lead a chant. In stead I had been sat there for the entire game and not said anything.” Well I said nothing and watched the game. Lou-Lou and “Scary” Neeks decided to fight for me. Then “Mars” came and apologized for “gopher’s” actions. All I am going to say is that I have the Moral high ground as I was sober and didn’t say anything, let alone offend anyone.

Final section on arguments… I shall call this section War and peace… Block 7 have decided that that Chants fall under some form of Copyright laws. So we got “get your own chants” chant thrown at us. Now they must of used the law firm of Lionel Hutz.

Well there has been some hockey played (not sure but I think I was there)

Some Highs, Some Low’s the official word is “Finished 3rd in the League” my opinion is we are the highest placed team that played by the rules.

Belfast Won it. (A gasp I hear, I know. But if you don’t pay a psycho he will surely throw a strop and demand a taxi in Coventry) Newcastle came second (Another gasp, but if you higher a bunch of convicts you might end up beating up a few teams) so were 3rd we have played the convicts twice. Got 1 point. Next up Steelers. I hope for 4 point. Realistically I can see 3. If either team does the double then realistically they are through to the weekend.

Anyway that was a rant and a bit. Hopefully will all be good come finals weekend. Don’t forget to say hello and be nice. Because I will find you and make you smile.

It's A Trip Up The Road Tonight!!!

Tonight for a few of the Panda masive it's a trip up the road to watch Steelers take on the Vipers. Should be an interesting game, not really sure who to cheers for, still as long as it's a good game that's all that matters. One of us I'm sure will fill you all in with a full report! Hopefully we get to see Smergen-Bergen play.

Also tonight the Panda's will be helping to film an advert for Powerplay. Not sure of all the details yet but I'll get back to to you later on what it actually is!

So on Wednesday night Panther's took on the Caps. Good 4-2 win, Cookey 2+1 (Cookey's Sebby's Love Child) Solid performance, It was also nice to have everyone sat in the Block around us!! Shaggy from the Library, Cat and Ted and also Andy (minus a Dead Cat (sorry mate)) Considering there was no oposing fans to contest with we kept the noise levels quite well!! (Midweek games are always difficult)

Basingstoke Vs Blackburn - Battle of the coldest ice rink ever...

Well, ive had a pretty good weeked it has to be said!

Friday: Me and Ted went to see Tim Vine! 'Who's Tim Vine?' I hear you cry...Google him, hes a comedian and a very funny one at that! We were on the front row - prime position for being picked on!! Twas ace!

Saturday: Basingstoke road trip!! Me and Ted took the Ted mobile to pick up Dave from the train station and we took TomTom on its first official outing - via Birmingham to pick up a newly 24 year old AndyD! Easily the best car journey ive had in aggggggggggges! Dave - you are a legend! The number plate game kept the journey interesting, with Dave punching me everytime he saw a double letter on a car number plate!! I was trying my hardest to punch him back but i guess in the end, he won...... Car parks were the most fun, us running around like small children punching each other! It was kinda like Ted and Andy were the parents and me and Dave were the kids! Fantastic!

Basinstoke is cold....Brrrr.....

We moosed, We tree'd and we sure as hell clapped!! What a game! Panthers won 3-2 and Matty scored a blinder of a goal! Bless him!!

The journey back was equally as good, with the 'beat the hell out of cat' game continuing all the way home!

Unfortunatly, the other pandas didnt have such a good journey home, with Warrens car dying... :( Bad times....

While im posting, i thought i would tell you about me weird dream last night.....it was based in the Odyssey in Belfast and we were watching the match from behind the bench rather than in the away block. We looked over to the away block and the players were all sat there watching the match.....This confused me as i thought they were meant to be on the ice until someone kindly told me that this was the new way of playing ice hockey...

Anyway - i decided to go and ask the players what they thought about the new kind of game and i got chatting to Woj....this bits very vague but somehow he ended up with his arm round me and we were snuggled up together in the seats.....again, very vague but somehow all the players and fans then ended up in a traditional English pub in nottingham and we were all drinking cider and eating steak and ale pie.....Lucy was there and she was wearing a flowery dress.....woj was still attached to me and then i woke up.....

If anyone can tell me what this means if you believe in all that 'dreams tell you stuff' stuff, then let me know!

Well I think that sums up the night. Thinking about it, "FUN But Poo" sort of has the same effect. We were awful. We took the lead, a deserved one at that. Vipers came out, gooned it up and decided to cheat all the way to the end.
Crooker stopped 3.5million shots. Trouble is the 1 he didn't. But hey, win some, loose some, draw some.

I do have to say a big Hello to all the new people I met at the weekend. Always pleased to say hello.

We Came, We Saw, We Won The BEER!

The Next night, Me, Lou, Sharon and Morley#99 went to Shuff to watch the Steelers Vs Caps game. The pretence was to see Smergan Burgan play but he was ill. Apparently he hasn't been able to keep anything in his body for 2000hrs (Maybe I misread and it is 20hrs) so no Smergan Burgan. During warm up, some woman came up and asked if me and Morley#99 wanted to go on the ice. We said "er, no" she then said you can win beer. Well needless to say, 5mins before the end of the period, Morley and me were preparing for our on ice debut in Shuff. I forgot to say that we both were in our Panda Shirts! (So one-way to look at it, Panda's did Ice in Sheffield.)

Object of the game- 2 teams of 2 people. 1 person for each team is blindfolded and is on their hands and knees. (With pads) They then have to crawl across and grab a box of beer. Other person in team shouts to man on knees, giving directions.

Needles to say I am on my knees and using my ability to sniff out the beer we won. ADD to this we floored Steeler Dan, I can safely say I will enjoy those beers.

I've Clapped. I've Moosed. I've Treed

Well that simplifies that. Belfast. Hmmm... That was an "Experience" Good 200 or so Strong all singing and chanting with the Panda's. As for the pre game build up.... CHAOS. Donk brought a shed load of "Party" stuff. We had Beach balls, Frisbees, balloons (Both normal and rockets) and various other stuff. Trouble is I think we got told for everything except the wigs. Hey ho.

Game was good. Played well. Scored 3 goals. Didn’t deserve more, they scored 1 and didn't deserve more.

Went to the Bar after the game. I will admit I had a drink. Well ok a lot of Drinks. Ah hell I drank till I couldn't see. Anyway all was good.
Add to this I sold the shirt off my back. Yes it is true. I did. But it was to Dion. I was wearing my Dave 7 up shirt (Grey American Work shirt with the Name Dave embroided to into it and the 7 up logo on it) Any way While walking past Dion he said, "Dude that is a Sick shirt" later he is at one end of the bar talking and I am at the other and all I hear is "buddy what will you trade for the shirt?" I offered a straight swap for his but he wasn't up for that. In the end it is for a number of Exclusive goodies for me, Lou and Cat. So on Sunday I give away my Shirt. Hey I enjoyed it and it is time I let someone else enjoy the fun of the shirt.

Well, what can i say about this weekend....

3 - 1 TO THE PANTHERS!!!

Fan - Bloody - Tastic!

The Better team won, thats all that matters!! It wasnt the best game of hockey ive ever seen but it was the best atmosphere ive ever experienced at an away match! We never shut up for 60 whole minutes, we got told off for the balloons, party poppers, the frizbees and the beach balls! And the players loved us!! Calle gave us a moose from the ice and so did Boniface!!! GM came and cheered us on as well! Ace!

My diaphram hurts from inhaling so deeply to make as much noise as possible!

Were gonna be on NASN as well! We sang 'If your proud to be a panther' to the cameras lots of times and Zoe loved us!! (See moose photos below!)

Far too much tequilla was drunk by me that night but i regret nothing!!

Sebby is a true leader, he loved us, he even took 2 more sebby badges to send to his family back in america!! Bless him!!

The major highlight was getting the majority of the players to be mooses for me (exspecially matt!) I dont apologise for the length of this, my first proper entry to the blog, neither do i apologise for the stupid amount of photos i am about to post as they are all fantastic!!

Sebby was a fantastic moose!! It took a bit of persuasion to get Nigel to do it but we got there in the end! Zoe was the dippy-ist women i have ever met! She was awesome!! Brad was cool about doing it, in fact he was well up for it! Cruickers.....ive never seen a man become a moose quite like it, he took about 5 minutes getting into character before he would let me take the photo!! Now Cookie, he wouldnt do it unless Mopes did it first...so Mopes did it straight away! Woj's face makes me laugh the whole time when hes a moose!! Does it remind anyone eles of the noises he makes when hes on the ice? I love him! Brandins moose looks very realistic i think and JoeC has huge antlers! Dan Ceman scares me with no teeth and i think thats the physio guy in the next pic but i would appreciate it if someone confirmed this for me! Wooley was a bit drunk and how does Curt Bowen manage to look good while being a moose? Now Matt Myers.....it took me about half an hour to build up the courage to ask him to be a moose!! Apparently this is a 'happy moose', id say drunk.....

But what the heck we'll just have to wait and see how it goes. But please please please Stefan don't sign for the Squeelers!! Go to the Cap's, we don't mind that!

Anyway on to other news (Happy News!!)

Firstly It's official the Panda's are now Cult Icons!! We are now recognised from Auckland to Zaire!!

Not only did everyone love our singing efforts so much last Saturday that we had 3 (YES THREE) threads on the Cage forum with us all in but we also got a huge mention by Mick Holland in the Nottingham Evening Post. We were described as "The Panda nutters of Block 11!" We truely do now rule the world!!

Anyhow seeing as we are now so famous we thought we'd branch out and are now arranging a trip to watch the Nottingham Lions take on Blackburn in Blackburn!! The game is on Sunday the 12th of Feb. This is an official Panda Team outing!! So if your interested in coming please speak to either myself or Shaggy!! T-shirt may also be available for the trip!!

Yes a happy new year to all Panda's and Panda followers!

So yesterday we witness the Panther's going down to a 2-0 defeat by the Vipers. I have to say fair play to newcastle. They probably deserved to win in all honesty. Before the game we knew it was going to be a battle of the 2 best goalies in the elite league and I have to say it but Koenig is the best!! The way he can play the puck is awesome. So to sum it up, Panthers were crap up front and newcastle were good in defense. The major problem for me at present is the forwards are just not shooting the puck!! Someone has to go and the sooner the better!! We miss tessier and really need a sharpshooter to help Big Joe C. But anyway we'll see what happens tomorrow the the (aparrently IN FORM?) Bison are in town.

Anyway on to what the Panda's do best!!! RANDOMNESS!!!!

Start the Jokes... its Played 5, Won 5!
Yes Played the Steelers 5 times and 5 wins! Trip up was inoffensive. Got in early and a drink in the Hollywood-bowling place. (Non-alcoholic for me because I was driving) Due to late ticket purchase's all 3 of us were not sat next each other. BUT Credit where its due, the Steeler fans that were sat in-between us (in the Away block, I will explain further down) moved up one and allowed me and Lou to sit next to each other. Mark moved to a spare next to Cat and Ted so nobody on there own. It Turns out the Steelers next to me are Season Ticket holders, they were put there by the Steelers organization and are refusing to move (Having sat next to them I can understand, nice seats) they are currently on there 3rd set of seats as they keep being moved. Overall they were very nice and friendly. I will definitely say hello to them again. They were genuine fans of Hockey, and appreciated our "Better moves" and criticised the Steeler "Poorer" moves. They did take a dis-like to the "If you all hate the Steelers clap your hands" chant. I did point out that Mr Simms has publicly stated his hatred for the Panthers (Last issue of Power play) and He has also stated that 99% of Hockey hates Panthers. I told them that if Mr Simms is pumping feelings of hatred out, some must be pumped back. There response was "that Tw*t? You listen to him? Yes Panthers are our bitter rivals. Yes we don't like your team but without you then we could never cope and if we both fell out of it then the EIHL would never survive. We both need each other. That twit should be filling this place all he is doing is annoying the regulars and the team cant keep the newbie’s due to that Muppet" Final Score 4-2

Long Time No See Said the Blind Man

Well that sets the tone. Bad Jokes. Yes you guessed it, its Christmas. (Not XMAS but I will go onto that later) So what has happened in Panda land in the last few weeks? Well not much.... He's the results… (Scores not strictly accurate)

Basingstoke away => won => 3.5milion goals - 3.5million (and 1) goals to us. The 1 being in OT. We played terrible. They played just as bad. For grit and determination though, we could have stopped speeding buildings and leapt over tall bullets. Awesome Team effort and deserved win in OT.

New'astle away => Well the OLD Panda wagon is no more. The NEW "Improved" Panda wagon is here. Purchased the morning of the game. So now we have a White mobile. (Photos will follow) So Thanks to Wormhole technology we arrived in Newcastle before we left Nottingham. Result wise, we lost. Donkey got match (and subsequent 30000-year ban for sucker punching B.A. Barrackers 450 times. (I think it was 30000 years, could have been 3 match's, it also was closer to 3 punches on Bowen) as for the score, I don't know. All I do know is that if someone announces Icing over the PA then you have to cheer.

CC Semi Final => Lost to Chavs = 900-899 or something equally as close. Blah result is the bad point. Return of Dion the good.

AWAY to Belfast => Lost to Giants = There will be a time when I go to Belfast. The downside is I doubt I will be alive to see it. Or more likely it wont be this season. Score was more goals to them than to us. I don't know nor care as I was at Grandma Lou-Lou’s being treated to a nice meal. (I think that makes her Grandma-Bella-me-ding-dong but not sure)

Away in a manger, I mean Edingburg. => Won. Snapped the 3 game lose streak. Won 2-1. (That was the result) Drove home from Grandma's and arrived before we left (Worm holes are great) Then Chilled and didn't much.

Last Night, I gave you my heart and the very next day (Today) you gave it away. - OR Last night we played "3 fan" Ed-ing-burg. Won 5-2. Good result but poor hockey. They only just had more fans than players.

Panthers 6 - Devils 4

Wow!! What a game that was last night!! Panthers storm the 1st 3-0!! Audry Aubry gets pulled after letting two DC shots through his glove!! "Theres a hole in your Goalie, Dear Devils, Dear Devils!!" Then he comes back in Period 2!! Now how can we describe the second period? "Indifferent" that probably about sums it up!! We conceded 4 goals although 2 were past Wooley as Curtis has problems with his pads!! But the thing is we were on a 5 min PP and manages to score 0 and concede 2!! Then a dull 3rd period until Sutter completed his hatrick!! I was a VERY strange night!! Still good to see Kat and Ted sat with the Panda massive in the 3rd and it was also good to see Gismo back alongside Kieth, "Gismo!! Gis us a wave!! Gismo!! Gismo!! Gis a wave!!!" But still it's been a strange weekend with only one game!! I look forward to Basingstoke and Newcastle away next weekend!! Although lets hope we don't pick up any more injuries!! Panthers sick room must have more players in it than we have on the bench!!

Jiri Fischer Collapses

Detroit Red Wings defenceman Jiri Fischer suffered a seizure and had his heart stop on the team's bench during the first period of an NHL game against the Nashville Predators on Monday night.

Fischer was given CPR at the bench before being removed on a stretcher. He was taken to hospital and listed in stable condition. Play did not resume and the game was called with 7:31 left in the first period.

Polish hockey team under attack

A dozen men wearing masks attacked the bus of Polish Extraliga team Zaglebie Sosnowiec

The team is currently seventh in the Polish Extraliga, they have lost their last game 1-7 against Energostal Torun. When their bus arrived home early at dawn, the unidentified men blocked up the road with their cars, and broke the windows of the bus with baseball bats. The driver of the bus was not afraid, accelerated his vechicle, and went away damaging the cars.

The police is investigating the case, it is not clear yet, whether this was a robbery or an action of some unsatisfied fans.

Nobody was hurt.

Well it's been a while since I posted!! But I'm here now!!

Now where shall I start? First of all Eddie Guerrero has Died!! I'm in shock, no more latino heat. WWE will never be the same but still Warren and me agree it would be pretty cool if we drove around on the Mexicools Juan Deeres!!!

Anyway on to the Hockey and first of all Friday night, The Squeelers in town. As Spen posted earlier "easy, easy, easy!!" That about sums it up!! The atmosphere in the arena was awesome. 5-1 win against the arch enemy!! What a way to start the weekend! The Horseman with his wooden horse, CLASS!! All in all a good night and good to see Kieth back in his proper blocker! Who are ya?!!!

Then yesterday a hard fought 3-0 win against the Devils and the atmosphere from friday was cerainly evident!! The drive down was simple and we made sure we took the right turning for the rink!! The game was pretty scrappy but we were certainly good for the 2 point. Just with the noise the fans were creating!! Echo you are a legend, Cardiff without you would just not be the same but I feel we completly beat you with the chants!! Good to see the afiliate Pandas there in, Kieth, Shaggy, Ted and Cat. VOTH!! WHO??? WHAT IS HE GOOD FOR!!!! ABSOLUTLY NOTHING!!! ..... OOH OOH VOTH LOOKS LIKE A LADY!!!! and finally... THERE'S A HOLE IN YOUR GOALIE DEAR DEVILS, DEAR DEVILS!!! All in all a superb night!!

Dark Times Lie Ahead.

Well that sort of sums it up. Since the Last post on here (Is it me or am I the only one contributing??) We have played 4. Won 2, lost 1 in OT and lost 1.

Starting at the Beginning… It was a cold September in 1979 when I first hit this Planet. Ironically enough in what is now a Pub. Hold it, stop… Too far back… Fast Forward to London >>

Trip down… uneventful. Well I say uneventful, the trip to the services to restock on calories was “eventful” We felt like the outsiders, well I think we were the only people in there who spoke English as first language. Any way got down in no time at all. DIDN’T GET LOST! Found Lea Valley with no Problems. Also found our new Panda Main team Sponsor… Kebabish! Also random man walking in the middle of the road. Anyway got to the arena, shouted Dobber and said hello. Got back in the car to wait and got a tap on the Window… it was Brenda and Jimbo. Very good to see them. Went to the pub and had a pint. (Ugh southern lager) and then went to the Game. Good game, good game (Someone shoot the bad impressionist) Met Rick Strang, nice bloke. Saw some poor hockey from both teams. Mr Robinson got a game in the first for boarding Blaz. Robinson should go onto Cosmetic Surgery Live as the scar on Blaz’s face is bute. Anyway, 3rd period starts and Cote is serving 10min major. He comes out and a different team takes to the ice. Simply put fantastic goal by Sutter. Peach of a backhand. Won quite comfortably with an Empty netter.

Drove over to Grandma’s Lou-Lou directing. DIDN’T GET LOST! (Well Done Lou) Took Grandma out for Sunday lunch and then drove over the bridge and paid to get into Wales. (Still don’t understand this) Got to the Rink got cheap parking and went to watch the first half of the Chelsea Man U match. In hindsight I wish I hadn’t as it was pants. Went to the Arena and watched 2 teams defend well but not attack at all well. Lucky goal by Muppet dwarf (on the short hand as well) that was it. Drove home.

Now for last weekend. Mid week, Tess went to Swiss to have a trial. Not good (as it turns out his notice has now been handed in.) Played Chav’s. Dominated for 2 periods and switched off for the 3rd. They pulled 2 back here and forced OT. Like the playoffs it went to them.
The next night, Bison came, we won. Simple. I am getting narked writing all this as I think this is the most I have ever written since I left school. I am sure funny stuff happened but I will leave that to the rest, apparently I have to do some work.

Well that gets the point across. London away. SCARY! Possibly 2 d-men down. This may force Danny "monkey boy" Scott to ice. BAD news. If Jason "you nearly had my eye out" Robinson is on there be sure for some Fisty cuffs, and be sure they wont be playing Queensbury rules.

Some would say this is old time hockey. Well I am like any red blooded male out there (I suppose that only rules out the royals, who alledgedly have blue blood. Oh and Mr Spock, as he has Green blood) I enjoy a good fight. Especially one where my guy wins. Here lies the problem. All our guys are willing to fight. Trouble is, All our guys are the good guys. This leads us to think that a goon picks a fight, good guy retaliates. Now goon and good guy in box. They still have there Good(ish) guys available to score a goal.

Well All Good Things Must Come To An End......

.... That about sums it all up. Panthers run of 8 games won has finally gome to an end!! I sit here bored at my computer but can't be bothered to go to sleep!! It's all PANTS (Big Frilley White ones at that!!) Tonight I witnesed for me a Panthers performance that was on par with the dismal performance in Newcastle!! A 5-1 defeat to the Bison!! Myself and Warren could quite happily have gone to the pub after the first even with Panthers leading 1-0 through a fine effort from Brandin!! The game was very flat and to be honest we all reckon Panthers were still in Edinburgh!! Shame I'm not!! But anyway I hope a certain Mr Hicks was involved in a major accident on the way home because once again he has been unable to look after a game and some of his call's were shocking!! Come back Andy Carson I say!!

Anyway that's enough depression!! Have to say though loved Cruicker going mental and Paul "Call me Superman" Moran flying into the Bison bench to land a cracking punch on one of the Bison Players!! Also I'm sure Danny will be better now he's had O'keefe's stick removed from his Arse!! Keep working hard boy!!

After watching my beloved Boston win 2-0 on saturday tonight was a bit of a downer to end the weekend!! On an earlier note though our captain's 10 pin bowling handicap has been decided and he now has a handicap of 66 meaning we won the game the other week!! Come on!!

Ah well best get some sleep!! See you soon people!!

Well that about sets the mood. 2 games. The same result.... 2 big fat W's in the win column for the Panthers. 3-1 Against London and 5-3 against Belfast.

Old friends Return

Well The Game Vs London was an experience. We beat them hands down. There was no sign of them coming out to play. We won easily. Highlight was the last 36 seconds of the Game clock. Well it was he longest 36 seconds I have herd off. 3 fights. 2 of them dead cert wins for Panthers. Our new enforcing role taken by Paul "don't Touch me" Moran. He won quite convincingly against known hard man Norrie. The boys didn't bother with the box. Then there was the Darling - Cornish fight. Before the puck was dropped, Cornish went for Darling. Pretty even but the Darling had a swing and miss and pulled his shoulder out of his socket. He turtled as he could end his career over it. Cornish Match Penalty. In all the "Bru-ha-ha" (Thank you Beastie Boys for the reminder of the word) Maxwell also was given a game Penalty. Basically Open your trap and offer every person in the arena (including MWB, Panthers fans and Hickys who was reffing) This has now been increased to a Match penalty. Then there was the Beanpole fight. Sutter, on his debut, after scoring (but being given it and it going to another man) he had a fight and battered Baker. Good game but in 37 seconds of play there were 95mins in penalty's for Racers. Now that's Putting the effort in.

Well the Coors Belfast Theo's , I mean Flurrys, I mean Giants came to town on Wednesday. What can I say? Perhaps the title gives it away? super Dan 2 goals. Bowen with a Peach. Paul "Dions out but I'll still paste ya" Moran stepped up to Morrison after a nasty and potentially dangerous check and showed him why not to start anything. Apart from that we played very well. Bring on the Bison! Can I just add a RONNIE!!!! Whoo hoo.

Mr Squelch is now a chav. Some have been speculating that he was already a chav as he wore flip-flips out into town drinking, in my eyes a real no-no. But He no longer wears the black and gold of panthers but the Multi coloured swap shop of sponsor filled madness that is the Chaventry chavs, I mean Blaze. In my eyes, he was the only forward who was close to the proverbial axe, Some may say that Axing Jeff "where's my guniness? Oh I knocked it on the floor. Look how silly I am" Sebastian was the more likely option. But getting rid of a D-man for a forward is risky. Especially when you only have 3 "full time" d-men as it is. So Good luck Mr Welch. I am sure you will do well.
Return of the Lad(i)
Saturday sees the return of the Racers to the NIC. Ladi will be icing. Oddly enough, with Dobber icing there as well, we have 2 horoury Pandas playing against the Panthers! Well They will receive cheers from the Panda massive in block 11. The Block 17 mini contingent (Lou-Lou) will no doubt be giving her praise as well.

Well Last night I went 10 pin "league" bowling. Strange concept. I was a certain shade of brown. Some good bowling form the other boys in Rollin Thunder So I think we came last. But it was fun.

DEFENSE OF AN INNOCENT MAN

Well What Can I say? Mistakes happen. Some mistakes are bad mistakes (Thinking back to my youth, 18 shots of neat vodka in 30 seconds was one) Other mistakes are for the better (Working at Yates for 1 1/2yrs bad, but I met Lou-Lou there so good) So out of the 4..... I accept full responsibility for the first I will add, that wee left behind the Supporters club and still overtook them before chesterfield.) Force of habit. I am so used to going South on the M1 at Junction 26 that I forgot all about the simple fact of Sheffield is north. 2nd Mistake, well what can I say? Thankfully I do know my way round Shuff so no disaster. It is a slightly longer route, one that misses all cash machines and petrol stations (hence the fill up after the game) but We made it to the Arena without getting stuck on the Meadowhell roundabout. 3rd mistake. Well I take this firmly on my shoulders. Should not have done it but hay, that's life. (Ã‚ÃÂ£95 call out for RAC to drain the tank, I don't think so) So I filled her up with Diesel, prayed and traveled home. 4th mistake, Well that is Franko (my farther) fault. I got in the wrong lane I admit, but could have recovered if I hadn't of taken a bloomin phone call from him. Anyway, we all got home safe and sound didn't we?

I do have a confession to add though.... 5th Mistake did happen. This I blame Lou-Lou When we left my Mum's earlier in the day, (To get the bigger Picasso) Lou-Lou asked for her CD's from the Batmobile to take to Shuff. So being the good boyfriend I went back to fetch the keys, retrieved the CD's and got in the Picasso. Went home, played a little hockey and then picked Mark up. The day went on above Then I took the Picasso home. Only I had left the Batmobile Keys at mine. So Fred took me home, with me in the passenger seat. I fetched my keys and then drove home again. Long Day.

To Answer your question Spen, I have no official affiliation with any NHL team. I have soft spots for various teams, La Kings mid nineties, Penguins late nineties, Maple leafs due to close association with Morley. (Huge TML fan) to explain the soft spots.. My first Hockey shirt. Bought purely because I wanted a Hockey shirt. It was an LA Kings with 17 on the back. Now many will know my lucky number is 17. I even have 17 in roman numerals (XVII) tattooed at the bottom of my back) It turns out that at the Time 17 for the Kings was Jarri Kurri who made a living playing on the top line with "The great one" and tapping in all the Sublime passes form him. My Penguins fascination is due to EA Sports. I just picked a team at random and it was the Pens. Since then have always followed them to an extent. For me there is no better centre / wing partnership than Mario and Jager, Talk about knowing where each other was!. If Mario asked for $100 dollars to help get Jager back mid season, my cheque would be in the post before the ink was dry.

The Liver Is Evil & Must Be Punished!!
I thought it was about time I put a posting up myself instead of leaving Spen and Warren to do all the work. Well where shall I start……….

Lets start with Edinburgh, I’ll not drag on too much but what can I say, it was an awesome weekend. Thursday was a nice quiet night but Friday has now been designated Vodka night. Spen and me must have got thorough at least a bottle each. So much so Spen decided to make himself ill when we got back to the hotel room! The Thai place that Jeff, Emma, Myself and Spen went to was superb! Then it was off to Bar Kohl to meet the other lads. Jeff has now become the worlds greatest dancer on the stage with all the really tall people and yes some of them were taller than him!! Espionage was a fantastic Club. 5 floors and Spen and I had a drink on every one. Well I say drink.. It was double vodka red bulls all night!! Have to say best moment of the night had to be when a “fit but you know it” girl came out of a club and Spen and Myself started…… See I reckon your about an 8 or a 9, maybe 9 ½ in 4 beers time. That white tank top you’ve got on is nice, bit too much fake tan , but yeah you score hi!!! An on and on and on!! The girl hadn’t got a clue what to say or do.

Well on to Saturday and recovery was the name of the game!! In fact only Jeff and Emma made breakfast as Spen, Woody, Andy and myself nursed our hangovers. Later in the afternoon our captain arrived with Lou Lou! After a quick change and everyone meeting in the hotel it was off to Murrayfield for the game. After the game Me, Warren and Lou Lou waited for the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtle (Other wise know as Danny Scott) who had been spending lots of time with his mentor SPLINTER. And the rest went back to the hotel to get changed to go out!! Being two drinks behind Andy and myself decided to quickly down our first couple of pints and we were soon back up to the level! Once again we visited bar Kohl and then Andy, Woody and Myself ventured to a club call City and that was a superb place! Certainly for me and Andy anyway as woody went home early. Me and Andy both struck it lucky!! Then finally it was back to the Hotel at about 3.45am determined to get up for breakfast!

So on to Sunday and I did make it to breakfast!! Surprise, surprise woody and Andy didn’t make it! Although everyone else did!! Then It was time for the weekend exercise and Andy, Spen, Jeff, Emma and myself decided to walk up Arthur’s Seat and it was well worth it as the views of Edinburgh were awesome! Then after a nice veg out in my room and a foot long from Subway it was time for Sundays game. Only Warren, Lou Lou and myself made it but we weren’t that bothered and still enjoyed it!! We then got back to the Hotel and concluded the weekend with 3 pint in the Student local and a take out from the Chinese. Then it was to bed ready for our early flight back to sunny notts!

Have to say I can’t wait for the next Panda weekend away hopefully with a few more panda’s in attendance. Hope fully it won’t take me only 3 pints to get drunk on the Sunday again!! The hangover finally kick in on Tuesday afternoon!!!

So that was Edinburgh, now for the last two games! Newcastle beaten 3-1 by a very under strength panther’s side who play 4 lines, two of them just about all brits and James Neil getting man of the match! Well deserved even if I do say so myself!! Newcastle were just Dumb and got what they deserved! In a way I hope Sheffield can batter Edinburgh and get through rather than Newcastle. Then on to Scum land on Saturday and another cracking 3-1 win!! Let me hear you say “WHERE’S MIKE PERON!!!! WHERE’S MIKE PERON!! EASY!! EASY!! EASY!!” All in all it’s been a great 2 weeks and let’s hope it carries on on Saturday!! Just a couple of interesting moment from the weekend and sorry to mention this captain but the comedy value is quality!

Firstly, we get to the M1 at junction 26 and next thing we know were on our way to junction 25!! Hold on that’s going south!! Isn’t Sheffield north!! DOH!! Mistake No1.

Second, we come of the M1 at meadow hall as normal and took the 1st left instead of the 2nd left!! DOH No2!

Third, we leave the house of tin and go to get some petrel for the car! We pull up to the pump and Warren puts some petrol in!! I go and pay and then all of a sudden I hear BOLLOCKS from our captain. He’s only gone and put unleaded in a diesel car!! DOH No3! So we top the tank up with diesel and make our way back!

But that’s not the end! As we come off the M1 at J26 we suddenly end up on the A610. But that’s the right road I hear you say and you’d be correct if we were heading to Nottingham but we’re not we’re heading to IKEA!!! DOH!! No4!!

Anyway that enough rambling on!! I bit you a good night!! Role on the weekend!!

I'm far too tired to go into a long monologue on the weekend, & after missing Sunday's game(disgraceful I know) I'm wary of some sort of Panda Expulsion - I hope Capt. realises that after watching the Forest game on Sunday most of us who follow the trickies were not exactly happy(some allegedly burnt down Southend pier!!) - plus we were in the City Centre in a nice warm Pub & Murrayfield is effing freezing(excuses excuses!).

SCOTLAND WEEKEND - the games

Saturday.
Travelled up at 7am. Arrived just after 2. Tired. Watched1st half of England’s attempt to miss the World cup in Germany. Went to the Game. COLD! Good 1st period, 1st goal was a PP. Second was pants. Should have stayed in the cafe. We let Tony Hand score a goal short handed. Then let them score another. We may have scored again but I lost interest here. 3rd Period. Was good, Blazer must of borrowed Alex Fergusson’s “Hairdryer” as the boys came out to play. Now for Saturday’s Crazy goal. A normal shot came in and there net minder put his glove over it. The whistle went. The NM lifted his glove and Hanson (no relation to the band but just as useful) gave a goal. This only leaves 3 options. a. Hanson saw the puck cross the line before the glove covered the puck and waited for the lift for confirmation. b. The Puck had crossed and Hanson gave it anyway c. There NM caught it on the lift and it crossed the line.
Went out had some beers. All tasty.

Sunday
Got up. Went to the Zoo. Saw Red Panda (see Spen’s Picture) very good. Long story but I now know the mating call of a red panda. Ask me at a game for a demonstration.
Went to the game PREPARED for the cold. We won 5-3. Another crazy goal. Blaz flew down beat the NM but put it wide. He flew round the back, passed it out only for one of their men to push it in. good goal.
Then we came home. Next morning we travelled home and rested. Impressed?

Well That is what I am told. Me and Lou-Lou make the trip in the "wee" hours of Saturday. (I can do this scottish stuff) Sammo and co have left this evening. Well that sort of gets the point across. Saturday 24th September, Me Lou-Lou, Sammo and Dufster went to pick them up. They are Top Banana! I will let Spen post the Pics just to prove the brilliance of the Panda. So Game Reviews..... Well I will start at the beginning:
Capitals Game (Home)
What can I say a lot happened. Panthers scored 8, Curtis and Geoff (a nice 10 min stint at the end of the 3rd) didn't let any in. I guarantee that something funny happened but that was some time ago and I have been to sleep since then. - Oh Just remembered, Kiki and Windy came. Panda Count 11!
Blaze Game (Away)
Me, Lou-Lou, Sammo and Marina went in the Batmobile. The Hockey was poor at best. We lost 2-0 We couldn't score in month of Sundays. But that's life. As for Comedy Stuff Happening, only one Highlight. Duffy is now DAFFY
Giants Game (Away)
No Panda attendance due to a. It being mid week and b. No one can get time off. 4-4 (after OT)result. Me and Sammo Terrorized the cage chat and have spread the love of Bamboo a little further. Will definitely be watching the Giants games this way as I know I can't get the time off to go over the Irish Sea.
Bison Game (Away)
Me Lou-Lou and Marina went down and joined a motley Crew of Morley, Steeler Sharon, Emma and Ian. Hockey was ok, They wanted it more than us and we ended up battling for a draw. Not how the first 10 minutes started. 2-0 up and looking like a walk in the park. Final score 3-3 (after OT) Not happy.
Giants Game (Home)
Hockey Poor. Ice Blasts good. Result bad (4-1 Loss) Return of Rhinds good. Low Panda count bad, NHL 06 good. (as you can tell I am clutching at straws) We scored a good early goal and in sections we played some great no correction fantastic attacking hockey. We recycled our chances and generated good extended pressure. BUT these moments were deeply out-weighed with poor play. Crooker needs his head looking at as at least 2 of the 4 goals were soft. No commitment. No fight. There actually was a fight, well a good punch thrown by Big Dion and Jamison deserved 2mins for receiving. I will note that the past 3 match's before we had Boniface reffing and he was trying to steal the show. So Some voices in the crowed were blaming him for the poor results but this game was reffed by Hicks and the result was purely Panthers Fault.

Well what can we say about this weekend!! The return of the Jeckall & Hyde Panther’s. Well Saturday started bad enough when I was woken by a phone call from our captain who needed a hand moving house! I never knew there was 2 8.30’s on a Saturday. Anyway after waking up very slowing I dragged my ass into town to meet Warren & Lou Lou in star bucks. A triple shout cappuccino was needed but after getting it wrong and making a latté the first time. The numb nut’s behind the counter then proceeded do me another 3 shot latte!!! Not a good start to the day!!

Anyway after drinking our coffees we left star bucks and headed for the car and drove back our captains pad. Now we were supposed to originally be able to get into the new house at 8.00am, it was then put back the 10.00am and as we sat there about to start moving. Andy received a txt from his land lord saying it was now going to be 11 o’clock!! (Oh the fun and games of moving house!!) So then we only had one choice. Unpack the play station and play bommerman!(Very unsuccessfully, even if I do say myself!)

So after being battered by the computer we then play bommerman baseball!! Andy jumped straight in a lead in the game but then thanks mostly to Lou Lou covering our captains eyes I was able to get back and take the lead. But in the end we decided it would be much more fun to play bommerman tennis instead!! What a wise move that was to prove to be!! After starting badly and being 5-0 down in the 1 set mate!! We finally got our act together in what proved to be an epic. With my character appearing to be around 30 stone and not able to move around the court we somehow managed to fight back to lead 6-5 before our streak came to an end and the computer pulled level at 6 all!! Time to roll the sleeves up and we sure did by taking the tie break 7-2. What a victory! What a performance! What a team!

So by the time we’d finished our epic of a game the landlord had finally arrived at the new house!! Andy popped over to have a word. 5 minutes later Lou got a phone call from Andy requesting my services in the new house. So I ventured over! We then moved on to build up a wardrobe and the new bed. Then finally it was time to start moving all Andy’s gear by 3 o’clock we had finally finished. Just left us enough time for me to batter and on Rugby on the PS2 as Italy game Ireland a rugby lesson.

By 4.30 I was home and tucking in to my lovely roast chicken dinner! Building myself up to what I hoped would be a great game. Neil arrived at my house, closely followed by Andy & Lou arriving in the car!! We piled in and arrived at the arena 10min later. I had arranged for Andy to have his photo taken to Clarkey before the game for his birthday. So we went down to the players bench. And then back to the seats to watch warm up.

So to the game and I have to say I was very impressed with what I saw on Saturday. We looked excellent and I think it was probably the best black and gold performance for a couple of years. Although Cardiff we’re just like London were last year. They were just a bunch of Miserable and Childish brats! Still we won and looked good!! That’s all that matters!! Although I do have 1 complaint and that is that the bloody Ice Blast machine broke!! I couldn’t get my sugar rush!! Oh the Stress!!!

After the game we gathered round our usual table in the T&D bar for a few drinks! Only Danny, Curtis and Matt came up but still it wasn’t long before we left and retired for the night!

Well now time for my thought for Saturday and our Road trip to Geordie land on Sunday! (And no Warren and Me are not running the Great North Run or in our case the great north walk!!)

On Saturday we face the Devils from that minor country of Wales! To be honest if we can play like we played in the second period on Saturday I fancy our chances. I believe Cardiff WILL be challenging us for the title this year so if we can get the upper hand on them this early then it will be a huge bonus and one over them! Score prediction 4-3 with panthers winning by the odd goal in seven. Goals from Clarke, Carderelli, Tessier and Curt Bowen scoring on his debut! Plus Warren and me high on Ice Blast Again. We also have the return of the head case known to us all as #80 Wykesie!!! As well as the return of Mummy Duffy #1 Should be in for a good night!!

On to Sunday! To be honest there’s not much to say apart from I must make sure I remember a blow up Donkey and remember “Payette in a Donkey!!!, Payette is a Donkey!!! LA LA LA LA!!! Hey!! LA LA LA LA!!! Hey!!” Once again I think we’ll just sneak this one 2-1 but I reckon lots of PIM’s and I look forward to watching either Kurt or Dion do some Donkey bashing!! As for goals I’ll go for Cote and Clarke!!

Hopefully this will be a good weekend even if we don’t get back til 1am!!

Reading the request, put on by Sammo.... Here is the game report for the Away game on Sunday.

Well where do I start? DISASTER! Lou-Lou and me went for some well-earned breakfast at our local cafe. On the way back I decided to buy some oil and top up the supplies for the batmobile. So we got home and I topped up the oil. After getting a little carried away I managed to over fill the oil. No disaster, I will burn it off.

SO I leave mine and head for Sammo's. Well it looked like I was on fire. Or at least the car was. There were plumes of smoke coming out of it not seen since November 5th last year.

I get to Sammo's and decide to check it out under the hood. BAD Idea. Oil everywhere. Plan B needed to materialize. So rang Fred (also known as Monkey, or Franko but Never Dad) he advised that burning it off was the best plan. The smoke was only harmful if you stuck your lips round the exhaust and sucked. So we went off to pick up "Wild cat" Rach well now she is Ex-"Wild Cat" Rach but that is just minor details. Still more smoke but it was easing off. We hit the village where she lives and the main road in is shut. So detour later and we had Rach. Another detour later and we back in the Hood. (Also known as the Fields or Warren-Land but never Forest Fields)

Anyway we picked up Lou-Lou (who forgot the sweets) and we set off for the rusty Shed. Smoke slowly slipping away and only rearing its head when the revs were quite high. So we pootled up the M1. Making it with plenty of time (No map reading duties for Lou-Lou as I know my way.) we went to the McDonalds near the Shed where Sammo and me went off on one. We decided to take the Mick a little. (I say a little but I mean a lot. anyone who knows us will understand) anyway. Rach returns to the table with as many napkins a 6ft Oak tree could produce and I went to order. With specific instructions I ordered the required food.... Along with 2 of every sauce the woman could find. I did deliberate about asking for a tub of mcflurry to dip chips into but thought Lou-Lou wouldn't see the funny side. So back at the table, we have an oak tree's worth of napkins, enough sauce to work out a tub per chip and in walked Wigwam. Well, at this point Sammo made Rach a Paper hat form a napkin (Had to find some use) and I demolished my food. We then took the Mick a bit more and tried to make Lou-Lou blush (didn't quite mange it) and went to the Shed.

Well got in watched the Hockey. 1-0 Panthers. Yet another PP goal. Almost as many as the entire of last season in 2 games. Must be Blazer and his crazy coaching skills. No other real notes apart from Calle nearly having his eye ripped out and breaking his nose thanks to sample.
Trip home was quiet, and I dropped everyone off and went to bed.

Well it has been some time coming but the Shirts have left the factory late yesterday UK time and are due to arrive within the next 10 days!

I am sure you are all waiting with baited breath to see the final shirt!

The Shirts Left Canada 10.12 Local time yesterday. So in theroy they are in the UK now.

I know it’s taken a few day to get my thoughts posted but I’ve been rather busy and all! Surviving a brewery trip on Monday, 32 screaming cubs on Tuesday and I’ve just got back from losing my 10pin League Match 3-1 in the final frame.

Anyway enough of the rubbish! Now where shall I start! First a great 3-2 win for Boston on Saturday put me in a really good mood for the first panthers home game of the season. I couldn’t wait to get to the arena. I arrived at the arena for about 6.00 and spent the first 15min stood outside the seated area waiting for the faming blue jackets to let us in! Finally we get in and the usual faces from last season are there.

I made my way over to Block 16 to watch the boy’s warm up, accompanied by my Kate-Luul and Sophie and I have to say in warm up they looked pretty good. I was good to get back with the rest of the Bamboo army and the other, Warren, Lou Lou, Emma & Rachel. At the end of warm up as loser boy came off the ice he passed my two little girls a puck each and that put a really good smile on their faces. Then it was back over to my seat to watch us take on the scum!

Then with the usual music being played too loud the lads took the ice. For the first time in the national anthem I was blinded by the light from the top of Patterson’s head! First period was pretty even if I’m honest, no PIMs and no goals says it all really. The JODY chants had stared though. All in all pretty happy with the first. Along came the period break and it was time for me and Panda #17 to stock up on Tango Ice Blast’s! (Mmmmm Sugar Good!!!!!!)

On to the second period!! Panther’s at their best 3 goals and a 5min Power Play as well. The top like of Clarke, Dan and Dan is looking really good and long may that continue. Have to say Dan T’s goal was quite special as was Clarkey’s. OK they were both on the PP but man did they take them well. And then to top it off Brad “Bald as a Coot” Patterson scores for me the goal that sealed the squealers fate. So then Period 2 break and more tango Ice Blast (By now the rush was good!!) Although I felt sorry the poor lad who didn’t get served until panda 17 told the stupid women behind the counter too. Fair play the staff on the Ice Blast machine as we got blast the more than filled the containers.

Period 3 and it was probably Squealers period overall although they never looked like scoring more than 1 goal!! And as Andy pointed out how nice it would be if the goal read Peron, Ceman, Sample. A joke that carried over to the game in Scum land the following day!! (Hopefully our captain will do the report for that game!!!) So finally the buzzer went and what a way to start the season. A successful 3-1 victory over the enemy!! Nice Start lads keep it up!!
Then it was on to the T&D bar for a few celebratory beverages!! Then Loser boy came up nursing his lip (Is it cus he is black style!) Then it was time to go home, tuck myself in and prepare for Sunday up the M1.

Anyway I’ve rambled on enough so I’ll leave it there! I’ll post my thought on the coming weekend tomorrow night!!

Well Only 24 hours to go and I'll be sat in my seat watching the Panthers hopefully batter the Squeelers! Anyway first I have to negotiate a night out with the cricket lads. Starting in the goose in the Square for some strange reason (argggg!!!!!!)

Still, now time for my first prediction of the season. I believe the score tomorrow night will be 4-1 to the panthers with Tessier scoring 2, Clarke 1 and Dion get one against his ex empoyers!!! I can't wait! Anyway I'll post my reaction from Sat and prediction for sunday when I get back on saturday.

Here we are the game report from Wednesday folks by Panda #17.

Well a trip down the A1 and with Lou-Lou Directing we arrived around 7.30 A little disappointed that there were no programs, only a game sheet. As I wasn't doing IH I wasn't fussed. It was my first trip to Phantom land, and suitably impressed. For team which has set its stall in the EPL, a lot could be learnt by some of our EIHL Teams.

Wondered round to the Block, found some seats, just in time as the music got cranked and the lights lowered. Then the Panthers complete with New Uniforms made there way… along the front of the away blocks. Quite an anti climax, but I will say it is the closest I have come to a panther in full uniform (as we were on the front row). It did give the girls (Lou-Lou and Emma) a chance to decide up close who was going to be on there shirts. Now this as other Panda's and Hockey "Males" will know that this choice is not made by viewing a players skill or ability but by his looks.

It was nice to see the familiar faces of Danny boy, (Cheeky git didn't tell me he had signed) Matty, and Mambo to name a few. James Neil had been brought down so a good chance for him to gel and cut it with the big boys. Out came the Phantoms, Notable inclusions were the Buckman, Yardley and Moore (the tank of a keeper we "Borrowed" last season when Wooly was injured.) Now for face off. With only 3 d-men it was obvious that Mopes was gonna go on D. As for the match.

Now I could go into grave detail but I can't for 2 main reasons.

A. I can't be bothered.

B. I can’t remember.

All I know is that we didn't play with set lines. There seemed to be set combinations for set situations. A few names seemed to jump out, The "Top" line so to speak of Mambo, Tessier and Welch. They scored nigh on all the points. And rightly so. We played with a man in front of the net (Mainly Mambo) when we had the puck with this line and all bar one man dropping back for D duties. Everyone showed great Grit and wanted to score points even down to the final buzzer. There were faces that were knackered, but rightly so. Another high point was the passing. We managed it. And for long periods in an attacking manor. Non of this I want to walk it in or wait for the perfect shot. It seems we now have the players who don't need the perfect shot to score.

I was highly impressed by the communication and passing abilities of Patterson. Pin point pass led to Dan's 2nd goal. Highly impressive.

Now for My favourite 2 points.

1. Blaz's Goal. Now we saw last season some great break away players, KK, Roman, Nemo. If Blaz's goal was anything to go by then God help the rest of the EIHL. He took a good break and stayed tight to the left hand boards. At the face off circle he cut inside, almost aiming skate into the far post. At about 2" out of the area he deaked, stopped, deaked again. By this point the net minder was flapping by his far post and Blaz was calmly stood by his near post, and just tapped it in.

2. the Penalty Kill Goal. Now I know we were playing the Phantoms. I know they are only EPL. BUT any team should have a shot on a PP (except us at points last season) The main reason is that you have more players. The team short will play defensive and dump the puck to change the lines giving you chance to at least bring it forward. Now for the best bit. 2mins and 20secs (approx) into he PK and we had only let them touch the puck on the face off. We didn't dump aimlessly. We played calm and compelling defensive hockey. We saw a chance, went for it, and scored a good team goal.

A few other points…. Dion looked like he wants to be accepted and them main way he seems to want to do this is by sticking up for the guys, and trying to score at any opportunity.
As I said a few names looked a little off the pace. Cardarelli. Or Joe C as he may become, looked quite with it despite stepping off a plane just hours before

Anyway speak to whoever, whenever, however. Life is good. So see you on Saturday.

Well what can we say only 2 Day's to go til the start of the new Ice Hockey season and I have to say I can't wait. Last night the Panthers travelled to Peterborough Phantoms in a chalenge match and by all account it was a success with the Panthers winning 9-2. A Hatrick and man of the match performace from Dan Tessier and 2 period shut out from Curtis Cruickshank. Panda's #17 Warren and #7 Lou Lou were at the game and Warren says he was very impressed by what he saw!! Hopefully he can put a posting on the match soon.

I'm seriously looking forward to Saturday and the visit of the Squeelers as well as the trip up the M1 on sunday. Having Blazer back certainly has given me every confidence, in what will hopefully will be a sucessful season.

Hopefully our Panda shirts will be arriving soon and as soon as they do a picture will be posted.
